Commercial Pest Inspection
The foundation of every effective pest management program. Before any treatment, we conduct a systematic, documented inspection of your entire premises — inside and out.
Overview
Inspection
Every effective pest management program starts with a thorough inspection. Before we apply any treatment, our experienced technicians systematically inspect your entire premises to identify pest species, activity levels, entry points, harbourage areas and the environmental conditions that support them. This isn't a quick walk-through — it's a detailed, methodical assessment that forms the basis of everything that follows.
What we inspect
Our technicians inspect all interior and exterior zones of your premises, with particular attention to high-risk areas: kitchens and food storage, waste and garbage areas, loading bays and receiving areas, drains and plumbing entries, roof voids and subfloors, storage rooms, plant rooms, and the building perimeter. We look for live pests, evidence of activity (droppings, tracks, gnaw marks, shed skins), entry points (gaps, cracks, vents, pipes), and environmental conditions that favour pests (moisture, food sources, clutter, vegetation contact).
Why inspection matters
You can't effectively treat what you haven't identified. A cockroach problem in a kitchen might actually be German cockroaches in the dishwasher area, or Australian cockroaches entering through a drain — each requiring a different treatment approach. Without a proper inspection, a pest controller is guessing. Our inspection gives us the facts: what pests are present, how bad the infestation is, where they're coming from, and what conditions are allowing them to thrive.
How we inspect
Our inspections are systematic and documented. We use professional-grade equipment including torches, moisture meters, telescopic inspection mirrors, and where appropriate, thermal imaging cameras. Every inspection is recorded — what we found, where we found it, and what conditions contributed to it. This documentation becomes the baseline for your pest management program and the reference point for measuring progress at every subsequent visit.
What you receive
After the inspection, you receive a detailed findings report covering pest species identified, activity levels and locations, entry points and harbourage areas, environmental contributing factors, and a preliminary risk rating. This report is the starting point for your tailored pest management program — no two sites are the same, and no two programs should be either.

FAQ
Inspection — your questions answered
How long does a commercial pest inspection take?+
It depends on the size and complexity of your premises. A small office might take 30–45 minutes, while a large restaurant, warehouse or food production facility can take 2–3 hours. We allocate sufficient time to do the job properly — a rushed inspection leads to missed activity and ineffective treatment.
Do I need to prepare my premises for the inspection?+
We'll advise on any preparation needed when booking. Generally, we need access to all areas — storage rooms, kitchens, garbage areas, plant rooms, roof access if available. It helps if you can advise staff we're attending and make sure areas aren't locked or blocked.
Is the inspection included in the commercial plan?+
Yes. The initial site inspection is part of establishing your commercial pest management program. Ongoing inspections are conducted at every scheduled service visit as part of your annual plan.
What if you find pests during the inspection?+
If we find active pest activity during the inspection, we'll discuss it with you on the spot and may recommend immediate treatment. The inspection findings directly inform the treatment program we recommend — including what to treat, where to treat, and how urgently.
