Treatment Preparation Guides

Proper preparation makes your treatment more effective. Clearing access to skirting boards, securing food and removing clutter lets the technician treat the right areas thoroughly — and helps the treatment last longer.

If key areas aren't accessible, the technician may not be able to treat them effectively, which can reduce the treatment's success. In some cases we may need to return to treat missed areas, which can incur an additional charge.

For most treatments, yes — you'll need to vacate during treatment and for the recommended re-entry period while treated surfaces dry. Your technician will confirm the exact re-entry time before they start.

Move furniture 20–30cm away from walls where possible, wipe down kitchen surfaces, secure food and pet bowls, remove or cover fish tanks, ensure roof void and subfloor access is available, and vacate during treatment. See the full checklist above.

Clear stored items away from internal walls, ensure the manhole and subfloor doors are accessible, move furniture away from external walls, trim vegetation from weep holes, and have any previous reports ready. See the full checklist above.

Vacuum all carpets and upholstery thoroughly, wash pet bedding on the hottest cycle, treat pets with a vet flea product, clear all floor areas, move furniture off carpets, and vacate during treatment. After treatment, vacuum daily for a week to stimulate pupae to hatch.

Strip and hot-wash all bedding on at least 60°C, declutter the bedroom, do NOT move items to other rooms, vacuum the mattress and bed frame, leave the bed stripped, and don't use bug bombs before treatment. See the full checklist above.

Clear access to the roof void and subfloor, secure all food in sealed containers, note where you've seen or heard activity, clear stored items from garage and subfloor, and keep pets away from bait station locations.

Do NOT approach or disturb the nest, keep children and pets indoors and away, close windows and doors near the nest, and note the exact location and entry point. Let the technician handle the rest from a safe distance.

Avoid cleaning treated surfaces for the recommended period, keep children and pets off treated areas until dry, and be aware that some pests (fleas, German cockroaches, bed bugs) may need a follow-up to break the lifecycle. Call us if you have any concerns.

Not always — your technician will advise beforehand whether cupboards need to be emptied. For most general pest treatments, wiping down surfaces and securing food is sufficient. For severe cockroach infestations, cupboards may need to be emptied.

Remove or cover fish tanks and turn off aquarium air pumps, secure pet food and bowls, and keep pets away from treated surfaces until completely dry. For flea treatments, treat all pets with a vet-recommended flea product on the same day.
