What a general pest treatment covers
A general pest treatment is the most common service Universal Pest Control provides. It's a comprehensive inside-and-outside treatment that targets the most common household pests in a single visit. Here's exactly what's included.
Pests included
- Cockroaches — all common species (German, Australian, American)
- Spiders — web-building and wandering species (excluding severe funnel-web infestations)
- Ants — coastal brown, Argentine, black house ants and others (excluding severe infestations requiring dedicated baiting)
- Silverfish
- Carpet beetles
- Centipedes and millipedes
- Paper wasps — small surface nests on eaves removed during external treatment (European wasp nests and bee hives require a specialist treatment)
- Earwigs and other occasional invaders
Areas treated
The treatment scope depends on whether you book inside, outside, or combined treatment.
- Inside: skirting boards, window reveals, door frames, kitchen cupboards (external), under appliances (where accessible), bathroom and laundry areas, roof void (dust treatment)
- Outside: external walls, eaves, window reveals, door frames, weep holes, garden beds adjacent to the house, fences, outbuildings, entertaining areas, garbage bin areas
- Roof void: dusted with insecticidal dust for spiders, wasps and general insect control
- Subfloor (if accessible): treated for spiders, cockroaches and general pests
What's NOT included
A general pest treatment doesn't cover everything. Some pests require specialist treatment due to their biology, behaviour or the products required:
- Termites — require a separate inspection and treatment program
- Bed bugs — require intensive, multi-visit specialist treatment
- Severe German cockroach infestations — may require dedicated gel baiting program
- Severe ant infestations (coastal brown, Argentine) — may require dedicated baiting program
- Rodents — a specialist treatment, not included in the general treatment; priced on assessment, or available as a Rodent & Mice Coverage add-on on a pest management plan
- Birds and possums — require specialist wildlife management
Treatment methods used
A general pest treatment uses a combination of methods for maximum effectiveness: residual spray to external and internal surfaces, dust treatment in the roof void and subfloor, gel baits in kitchen and bathroom areas for cockroaches, and targeted treatment of webs and wasp nests. All products used are registered for domestic use in Australia and applied by licensed technicians in accordance with the label.
Follow-up treatments are $165 per attendance if active infestations require additional treatments to interrupt the breeding cycle. If you're still seeing pests after treatment, call us to arrange a follow-up.
